Bariatric Care Program
Rock Island Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing facility providing acute and complex medical care such as ventilator, dialysis, rehab, Alzheimer’s care and Bariatric care programs.
We provide patients with a unique, interdisciplinary team approach to care with dedication to behavioral and life support of long term weight management success.
- Our Bariatric Care Program starts with our specialized equipment including wheelchairs, beds, mattresses, commodes, walkers, and geri-chairs that are all designed for the comfort of our residents.
- Our Bariatric Care Program works with pre & post gastric bypass surgery patients, providing psychological evaluation and behavior modification support.
- Our Bariatric Care Program involves physical and occupational therapy when applicable. Our therapists help motivate the residents to their optimal level of functioning.
- Our Bariatric Care Program is supported by our interdisciplinary team including nurses, dietician, social worker and activity director. These disciplines provide emotional and behavioral support, theraputic diets, and appropriate exercise regimen.
